Sustainability

Every day we seek to guarantee the production of special coffees and to respect the entire value chain, incorporating the learning of our experiences and new technologies, developing sustainable practices that value ethics, the importance of our employees and community, the preservation of water resources, fauna, and awareness of fairer and more efficient production models.
The preservation of the environment and the entire ecosystem is extremely important for us. We aim to always maintain a commitment to the adoption of sustainable procedures, such as optimization and rationalization of water use in the production and processing of coffees, treatment and reuse of waste water, reduction of organic compounds with residues from the coffee process centers, the preservation and conservation of fauna and flora and natural ecosystems that prevent the conversion of land use that leads to the lowest carbon stock.

Caring for the environment

Our coffee plantations contribute to better soil conservation and the maintenance of flora and fauna present in the existing forests on the property. From planting to harvest, we excel in the use of natural farming techniques. The coffee facilitates the erosion control because it is a perennial plant, that is, after planting there is no movement of the earth, a preserving its physical structure, also assisting with good cultural practices in the management of invasive herbs, ecological pest and disease management having healthy coffee results and maximum productivity.
The use of cover crops has shown, providing soil cover and protection, improved organic matter, nutrient recycling, increased biodiversity and, consequently, less risk of pests and diseases.

Riparian Forests, preservation and recomposition

In order to protect and preserve the environment, permanent preservation strips are left along water courses and the areas for restoration are studied and included in the environmental plan.

Ecological management of pests and diseases

An ecological management of pests and diseases is done where a minimum modulus is considered to begin pest control and also the amount of beneficial insects in the area (Natural Enemies). Besides the proven efficiency and low cost of this method, the consequence is a great contribution to the preservation of the population balance of the species and to the environment in general.

Waste treatment and recycling

In coffee production processes, some high-value fertilizer residues are produced, such as: residual water, coffee husks and boiler ash. These residues are transformed into organic compounds and used as organic fertilizers in coffee plants, replacing partially or totally the mineral sources of potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen. For the residual water, an organic fertilizer machine is used, which allows the return for application in the coffee plantations, replacing totally or partially the mineral source.

Soil management

The soil is a natural resource that must be used as property of the community, regardless of its use or ownership. It is one of the vital components of the environment and it constitutes the natural substrate for the development of plants. We aim for controlling the use of agricultural inputs in soil management and protect the plants, respecting the existing variability.
